Dua Kumail

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ الَّتِي وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ
“O Allah, I ask You by Your mercy which embraces all things…”
Dua Kumail is the renowned supplication that Imam Ali (a.s.) taught his loyal companion Kumail ibn Ziyad al-Nakha’i. It is recited on Thursday nights (the eve of Friday) by communities across the world, seeking forgiveness, mercy, and nearness to Allah (swt). The supplication moves through praise of Allah, heartfelt repentance, and a plea for relief from hardship — and is among the most beloved of all the supplications narrated from the Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them).
